Definition
An auto dialer is a software system that automatically dials telephone numbers from a pre-loaded list. When a call is answered by a human, the auto dialer connects the call to an available sales agent. Auto dialers are the umbrella category that includes power dialers, parallel dialers, and predictive dialers.
How It Works
An auto dialer works by pulling numbers from a contact list and dialing them automatically, either one at a time (sequential/power) or multiple at once (parallel/predictive). The system detects whether the call was answered by a human, voicemail, or fax machine.
Human-answered calls are routed to the next available rep; voicemails can be handled with auto voicemail drop. The core benefit is eliminating the time reps spend manually dialing, listening to rings, and leaving voicemails — turning that dead time into selling time..
